Jim Schlossnagle is a college coach.
Schlossnagle pitched for Elon College when they went to the 1989 NAIA College World Series. He then served as their assistant coach from 1990-1992; as pitching coach, his squad twice finished among the nation's top three in ERA. He was then pitching coach for Clemson University in 1993.
From 1994-2001, Schlossnagle was associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Tulane University, producing 18 pitchers who signed professional contracts. In his last season, Tulane went to the 2001 College World Series.
Schlossnagle became head coach at UNLV in 2002, going 77-47 and winning Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2003. His 2003 team finished 15th in NCAA Division I.
In July 2003, Jim became head coach at Texas Christian University. He was 251-120 in his first six years, setting new school records for wins a couple times. He was an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2006 World University Championship. He finished one win away from the 2009 College World Series. He won four straight MWC Coach of the Year honors at TCU. In 2010, Schnossnagle guided TCU to a 51-12 record entering the 2010 College World Series, their first College World Series appearance ever. They held their own, going 3-2 in the event.
Schlossnagle became head coach at Texas A&M University in 2022. He took the school to the College World Series in 2022 and 2024, finishing 2nd in the later year, before moving to the University of Texas in 2025.
