Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Jordan has been a college coach.
Jordan was a pitcher for The Citadel as an undergraduate student. He coached Fort Johnson High School and James Island High School during 1980-1983 then was 156-53 as head coach of Stratford High School from 1984-1991; the school was nationally ranked for all of 1989 in USA Today. He then returned to his alma mater as head coach. He went 831-709 at The Citadel (1992-2017) with seven trips to the NCAA Tournament. He set a school record for career wins, passing Chal Port (641) and was named Southern Conference Coach of the Year in 1995, 1999, 2002 and 2010. The team beat the #1-ranked University of South Carolina in 2007 and topped them again in 2010, when South Carolina won the College World Series. Among his products have been Dallas McPherson, Britt Reames and Chris McGuiness.
