Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Flaherty was head baseball coach of the University of Southern Maine from 1986-2024. His teams have won the Division III College World Series in 1991 and 1997. He went 1,133-532-4 and his teams went to the Division III College World Series eight times. At the time of his retirement, he was 10th all-time in Division III history in wins.
Flaherty earned All-America honors and was named All-Yankee Conference and NCAA Regional All-Tournament in 1975, and played in the 1976 College World Series. He had been on Team USA when they won the 1975 Intercontinental Cup. His son, Ryan Flaherty, played eight years in the minors.
