Biographical Information[edit]

Don Schaly was head baseball coach at Marietta College for forty years. At the helm from 1964 to 2003, he posted a 1,442-329 record. His teams won the Division III College World Series in 1981, 1983, 1986, and were runner-up to the national title seven more times. Among the players he coached were big leaguers Kent Tekulve, Jim Tracy, Terry Mulholland, and Matt DeSalvo. In Schaly's honor, the school named its ballpark Don Schaly Stadium, and he was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1995.
