The DSL Indians have represented the Cleveland Indians in the Dominican Summer League since at least 1990. In 2000-2001, the Indians sent players to a second co-op team, the 2000 DSL Twins/Indians and 2001 DSL Indians/Red Sox. From 2002 to 2005 they supported two full teams, the DSL Indians 1 and DSL Indians 2. In 2017 the Indians also started sending players to the DSL Indians/Brewers. The team was replaced by the DSL Indians Blue and DSL Indians Red in 2021.

Major leaguers to get their start here include Julian Tavarez, Einar Diaz, Alex Ramirez, Bartolo Colon, Marco Scutaro, Ramon Morel, Willy Taveras, and Jhonny Peralta .
