In 2000-2001, the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox sponsored not only the DSL Indians and DSL Red Sox, but a second co-op team. The DSL Indians/Red Sox was the result of that joint effort. The Indians would go on to sponsor two DSL teams in 2002, while the Red Sox would return to just one. The co-op went 25-43 to finish last in the eight-team Santo Domingo division.
