Team history[edit]
Formed in 1936, the Águilas Cibaeñas, frequently referred to simply as Águilas (Eagles), have been one of the dominant teams in Dominican League history. Stationed out of Santiago, they play their home games in Estadio Cibao. The Águilas won 22 Dominican League titles through 2022-2023, only one less than archrival Licey Tigers for the most. They also have won six Caribbean World Series - 1997, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2021 (second all-time through 2021). Numerous major league stars have played on the team through the years.
