He pitched four shutout innings in their 3-2 title clincher over Ciego de Ávila, relieving Leandro Martínez; the win went to Miguel Lahera, who closed it out. [1] He allowed a hit to the only batter he faced in the 2017 Caribbean Series. He was 0-1 with a 5.16 ERA in the 2017 World Port Tournament. [2]
The right-hander was 2-4 with a save and a 5.25 ERA in 2017-2018 (though Granma successfully defended their title) and improved to 3-5, 3.70 the next season. In 2019-2020, he began 4-3 with a 3.43 ERA for Granma. When they didn't make the second half, he reinforced Cienfuegos and was 4-1 with a 4.91 ERA. He was 7-4 with a 3.57 ERA for Granma in 2020-2021. He was 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in the postseason and won his third title. [3] He was 1-0 and pitched six shutout innings for Cuba in the 2021 Caribbean Baseball Cup. He tied Jordan Lucas, Frank Madan and Renner Rivero for the ERA lead. [4]
In 2021-2022, he posted a 5-4, 3.18 record and was 4-1 with a 3.82 record in the postseason. He was 8th in ERA, between Hermes González and Danny Betancourt. He won his fourth championship and played a key role; in the clincher against Matanzas, throwing the final two innings to complete a combined shutout with Martínez. [5] He was 0-1 with a 2.86 ERA in the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week, losing a duel to Italy's Gabriele Quattrini. He was 10th in the event in IP (7 1/3) though his five walks trailed only Nelmerson Angela. [6] For the Agricultores de Granma y Las Tunas in the new Cuban Elite League, he was a superb 4-0 with a 2.18 ERA to help them win the title (though he had a 9.53 ERA in the postseason, he was 2-0); he issued only 8 walks in 41 1/3 IP. He tied for 5th in victories and was among the ERA leaders. With Granma y Las Tunas in the 2023 Caribbean Series, he had two no-decisions with a 2.08 ERA. He was the first pitcher to face a Curaçao team in a Caribbean Series when he battled the WildCats KJ74' Cody Mincey in a fine outing. He and Mincey tied for the Series lead with 13 IP, yet neither one would get a decision.
García was 3-1 with a save and a 3.04 ERA in 2022-2023 and 0-1 with a 2.63 ERA in the 2023 Elite League. He was 7-3 with a 4.28 ERA in 2023-2024 but was not his old postseason self, going 0-3 with a 9.77 ERA. He tied for 8th in the regular season in wins and was 9th in WHIP (1.39). [7]
