Biographical Information[edit]

Bradley Roper-Hubbert played three seasons in the minors. He and his brother Branden Roper-Hubbert have both played in Germany's Bundesliga.

Born in Bermuda, Roper-Hubbert moved to Georgia as a child. He was 6 for 26 as a college freshman then was 5 for 36 with a homer as a sophomore. Transferring to Alcorn State, he was the Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2006, hitting .404. The New York Mets took him in the 32nd round of the 2006 amateur draft, one pick before Alex Sanabia. As a backup catcher for the Kingsport Mets that summer, he hit .250/.323/.429.

In 2007, B.J. was with the GCL Mets (.203/.290/.313 in 35 G) and Kingsport Mets (.264/.316/.434 in 14 G), striking out 70 times in 181 at-bats. He was now an outfielder, with 7 assists to two errors. In his last minor league campaign, he was with the Savannah Sand Gnats (.194/.316/.357 in 40 G) and St. Lucie Mets (.250/.263/.375 in 18 G), striking out in 67 of 154 AB.

In 2011, Roper-Hubbert played for the Bonn Capitals and hit .356/.496/.594 with 31 runs and 28 RBI in 27 games. He was among the northern Bundesliga-1 leaders in average (13th, between Jendrick Speer and Craig Pycock), home runs (5, tied for 3rd), RBI (tied for 3rd with Björn Schonlau and Jakub Voják), walks (25, tied for 4th with Lennart Weller), slugging (7th) and OBP (8th).

The next year, Bradley hit .511 to lead the northern Bundesliga-1 in average, 48 points ahead of Elliot Biddle. He also led in slugging (.811) and presumably other departments. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he played for the Great Britain national team. He went 3 for 9 with a homer (off Phillies farmhand Marek Minařík), 3 runs and 3 RBI. He tied Aeden McQueary-Ennis for the team lead in RBI, was second in runs (one behind Albert Cartwright) and was second among the starters in OPS (behind Cartwright).
