Biographical Information

Aeden McQueary-Ennis made his minor league debut in 2007. He has played for the British national team.

McQueary-Ennis was born in England and began playing baseball at age 4 on the American Airforce Base near High Wycombe. He moved to the US at age 7 but maintained dual citizenship. He went to a prestigious baseball high school in Orlando and went on to junior college then to Georgia State University. In the 2005 European Championship, he led Britain with 6 RBI; he pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings. He hit .227/.296/.273. He spent part of the 2005 season in the German Bundesliga, hitting .189/.348/.321 as a backstop for the Fürth Pirates.

In 2006, the junior hit .330 in his first year at Georgia State. As a senior, he batted .303/.394/.497 and was named team MVP. The San Diego Padres took him in the 8th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He hit .228/.366/.263 in 19 games for the Eugene Emeralds and .290/.425/.419 in 10 for the Lake Elsinore Storm.

McQueary-Ennis was a star performer for Great Britain in the 2007 European Championship when they won Silver for the second time ever. He hit .265/.375/.324 with 10 runs in 8 games; only Brant Ust scored more for the team. McQueary-Ennis also threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings and saved a game. He was 1 for 3 in the Gold Medal game loss to the Netherlands.

Aeden hit .108/.318/.108 in 24 games for Lake Elsinore in 2008 then batted .194/.289/.224 in 21 contests for the Hickory Crawdads, a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate. McQueary-Ennis fanned in 45 of 132 AB in 2008 but drew 28 walks.

He has signed with ADO for 2009 and was expected to pitch on occasion in addition to his work as a catcher. He debuted as a pitcher, on April 12, allowing 11 hits and 6 runs in 5 1/3 relief innings as ADO was routed by DOOR Neptunus.
