Arecibo, PR
Arecibo is a municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, located by the Atlantic Ocean. The municipality is spread over 18 wards, and it is the largest city by area on the island. Population as of 2000 was 100,131. It was best known as the site of a giant radio-telescope built in the 1960s that allowed for some state of the art astronomical research to be conducted before being decommissioned in 2020.
