1993 European Championships

The 1993 European Championship was held from July 9 through July 18 in Stockholm. The host Swedish national team won its second Medal in European Championship history, taking Bronze. Netherlands and Italy won Gold and Silver, respectively. The event significantly boosted baseball participation in Sweden, which was hosting the event for the first time. The Swedish federation lost about $50,000 on the event.
Johan Hasselstrom of Sweden hit .517 with 10 RBI and was named the top hitter. Patrick Klerx of the Netherlands won the Best Pitcher award while Joost was named MVP.
France finished 4th, followed by Spain and Belgium. Germany and Russia rounded out the standings.
