The 1958 European Championship was held from June 5 through June 12, 1958 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Unlike in 1957, many fans turned out, with about 10,000 showing up for the finale.

Flag of Netherlands Netherlands won its third Gold in a row, but it was not easy. They needed 10 innings to beat Germany 4-3 and 12 to beat Italy 6-5. In the finals, they had an easier team with Italy, winning 5-2.

Flag of Italy Italy finished 4-2 to take home Silver. Both of their losses came against the Netherlands. Luigi Cameroni was player-manager.

Flag of Germany Germany won Bronze despite just a 1-2 record. Their performance against the Netherlands convinced the Dutch to hire away Germany's manager, Ron Fraser.

Flag of Belgium Belgium placed 4th at 1-2; their only win was a 17-2 romp over France.

Flag of Spain Spain was 5th at 1-2. They too demolished France - 29-4, the biggest win of the competition.

Flag of France France lost both their games, by the combined 46-6 margin. It was their second European Championship and they couldn't note any real progress.
