Biographical Information[edit]

Tibor Bagyinszki has been on the Hungarian national team.

Bagyinszki went 2 2/3 scoreless, fanning four, to save Sean Fekete's win over Serbia in the 2022 European Championship Qualifier but walked four and allowed two runs in 1 1/3 IP in his other outing, versus Slovakia. Hungary won a spot in the 2023 European Championship, their first European Championship. [1] Their oldest player (six months older than #2 Norbert Goór), he was the first reliever for Hungary in a European Championship when he replaced Fekete in the 3rd inning of their opener against Italy, down 4-0. He walked Cesare Astorri and Sebastiano Poma doubled in a run. He retired Giulio Monello for his first out but walked Mattia Mercuri and Nathanael Batista. He recovered to get Ricardo Paolini and Robel García to escape further harm. Four of five reached the next inning and Alex Ogg took over; Tibor finished with 5 runs (4 earned) in 1 1/3 IP. His other outing was against Croatia. Again replacing Fekete, his team was still within reach, down 2-1 in the 7th with two on and one out. He walked Slobodan Gales and Jose Herrera then Philip Smith homered to make it 7-1; Ogg again succeeded him. His 47.25 ERA for the event was not the team's highest; Carlos Rubio and Peter Gornik were both higher. [2]
