Biographical Information

Peter Gornik has been on the Hungarian national team.

He was 1 for 8 with a steal in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, handling 7 chances error-free at 2B and P and allowing two runs in one inning. In the 2023 European Championship, he was the #9 hitter and second baseman in Hungary's first European Championship game, versus Italy. He struck out against Matteo Bocchi then Csaba Goór pinch-hit. He was 1-for-11 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, steal, two runs and a RBI for the event and allowed six runs (five earned) in 2/3 of an inning (versus Great Britain), fielding .900. He got his hit off Moisses Pargas. He tied Alexander Kienberger for the event's highest ERA; Benny Wanger was at infinity.
