November 15: Today's featured birthday is that of Randy Niemann, who turns 69.
- 1933 - As part of a Fire Sale, the Philadelphia Athletics sell star catcher Mickey Cochrane (pictured) to the Detroit Tigers for $100,000. Cochrane will be Detroit's player-manager and guide them to the 1934 World Series.
- 1958 - The San Francisco Giants trade Rubén Gómez and Valmy Thomas to the Philadelphia Phillies for Jack Sanford, who will become an ace for the Giants.
- 1969 - The Kansas City Royals pull off a major deal, getting Amos Otis and Bob Johnson from the New York Mets for Joe Foy.
- 1974 - The Chicago White Sox trade Dick Allen and $5,000 to the Atlanta Braves for Jim Essian. The temperamental Allen refuses to report to Atlanta and retires.
- 2002 - The Oakland Athletics trade closer Billy Koch and two players to be named later (Neal Cotts and Daylon Holt) to the Chicago White Sox for Keith Foulke, Mark L. Johnson, Joe Valentine and cash.
