Biographical Information

Sasika Dulshan has pitched for the Sri Lankan national team.

In the 2017 Asian Championship, the country's first Asian Championship, he allowed two hits, one walk and two runs in 2/3 IP for the team's highest ERA. He was also with them for their first Asian Games in baseball. In their opener, he relieved Kankani Gamaralalage Chirath Karunarathne in the 7th with a 11-8 lead and two outs against Laos. He gave up a double to Soua Xong (who advanced on a passed ball) and walked Thongvanh Her. Her stole and a throwing error on the play made it 11-9. Peun Silouanglath tripled to close the gap to one and Madumal Tharindu relieved. He closed out their 14-3 loss to Thailand, relieving Karunarathne with one out and one on. He struck out Netithorn Nualla Ong, hit Alexander Clark and retired Sanyalak Pipatpinyo.

He picked up the opening win for Sri Lanka in the 2019 West Asia Baseball Cup, getting the last two outs in the top of the 9th before his team scored in the bottom half to beat India. He beat Muhammad Usman and Pakistan in the finale with a fine outing (3 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 K in 7 1/3 IP); Tharindu relieved. He was named the Cup MVP.

The win got Sri Lanka a spot in the 2019 Asian Championship. He lost to Hong Kong and Chi-Kam Kenneth Chiu and was lit up by Japan while providing solid relief against the Philippines (4 R, 3 ER in 6 IP). He tied Quan Gan for 2nd in the event in IP (9 1/3, 2/3 behind Abubakar Virk), tied eight others for the most games pitched, tied Rizwan Ali and Haonan Zhang for the most losses, tied for the most starts (with Ali, Zhang, Hyeong-jun So and Romeo Jasmin Jr.), was 3rd in hits allowed (16, 2 behind Virk and Atif Ahmad), 3rd in runs allowed (15, behind Virk and Ahmad) and tied Ahmad for the most earned runs allowed (12). He was 5th on Sri Lanka's 8-man staff in ERA.
