Biographical Information[edit]

Peun Silouanglath was on the first Laotian national team, at the 2018 Asian Games. He started their opening game at third base, hitting 7th. The teenager singled off Thailand's Siraphop Nadee for the team's first hit ever; in fact, it saved them from being no-hit in a six-inning mercy rule loss as it was their lone hit of the game. He also grounded out against Phanuwat Sukmuang. In the field, he moved to second base later in the day and had one putout, one assist and one error. [1] The next game, he batted 7th and again played third. Laos fared much better, getting 13 hits in a 15-10 loss to Sri Lanka. He had one putout, three assists and no errors. After striking out against Chamika Yasas and Kankani Gamaralalage Chirath Karunarathne and grounding out against Karunarathne, he tripled off Sasika Dulshan to score Thongvanh Her and close it to 11-10 in the 7th. It was not the team's first three-bagger as Nalor Gniatou had one earlier in the day. [2] Only Gniatou had more hits, a better average or better slugging for Laos, while Silouanglath tied Her for the 2nd-best OBP among the qualifiers (behind Gniatou). [3]
