Biographical Information[edit]
Romeo Jasmin Jr. pitched for the Philippines national team in the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, his 27.00 ERA tied Max Javate for worst on the squad. Jasmin entered his only game with a 11-0 deficit in the 6th, replacing Javate against the host Taiwan national team. He had a fine inning, walking Yen-Wen Kuo but then retiring Hung-Yu Lin, Chih-Yao Chan and Cheng-Wei Chang in order. In the 7th, though, things did not go as smoothly. He gave up a single to Cheng-Ming Peng and a double to Bin-Yen Lee. Jasmin walked Szu-Chi Chou, then got a brief reprieve by whiffing Yung-Chi Chen. Yi-Chuan Lin smacked a 3-run double, though, and Kuo singled to make it 15-0. Jasmin got Hung-Yu Lin for the second time in two innings, but a single by Chan capped the scoring. Ernesto Binarao relieved.
He was on the Filipino roster for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers but did not get into a game; Ronel Peralta was their only other hurler who was not used. Things worked out better for him in the 2017 Asian Championship, when he went 2-0 and his staffmates were 0-5. Against Sri Lanka, he relieved Juan Paulo Macasaet with one out in the 8th and got the win when the Philippines scored three in the bottom of the 8th; Junmar Diarao closed it out. He then went 7 strong innings (4 H, 2 BB, 9 K) to beat Hong Kong and Ka-Ho Sam Leung with a spot in the Final Four at stake. His 9 whiffs in the event were second on the staff to Macasaet's 11.
