Max Javate has pitched for the Philippines national team.
Javate had a 5-2, 3.13 record as a high school junior and 9-4, 3.50 as a senior. He was 7-2 in two years in junior college. At UNLV, he was 2-0 with a 7.34 ERA as a junior and improved to 5-2, 5.44 as a senior in 2011. He then pitched for the Philippines in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, though his 27.00 ERA would tie Romeo Jasmin Jr. for the team's worst mark. In his only game, he relieved Darwin dela Calzada with a 6-0 deficit, two on and one out against the host Taiwan national team. He walked Chien-Ming Chiang then gave up a RBI single to Cheng-Ming Peng. Chih-Sheng Lin doubled and an error on the play by Ryan Pineda let in all 3 runs. Javate walked Szu-Chi Chou and threw a wild pitch to make it 11-0. He then finally got an out, retiring both Yung-Chi Chen and Yi-Chuan Lin. Jasmin relieved him in the 6th and the Philippines went on to a 16-0 loss.
