Biographical Information[edit]

Ryan Wardinsky played two seasons in the minor leagues then became a scout.

Wardinsky was picked by the Colorado Rockies in the 37th round of the 1998 amateur draft out of high school but did not sign. After a year at junior college, he transferred to Texas A&M. He hit .288/.381/.369 as a sophomore and .285/.348/.403 as a junior. His senior year, he produced at a .304/.413/.402 clip. The Philadelphia Phillies took him in the 30th round of the 2002 amateur draft.

Wardinsky split the summer of 2002 between the GCL Phillies (.220/.351/.237 in 22 G) and the Batavia Muckdogs (.262/.347/.321 in 26 G) as a utility infielder. He spent 2003 with the Lakewood Blue Claws (0 for 4, BB, R) and the Clearwater Threshers (.200/.286/.241 in 61 G). He hit .216/.312/.257 in 111 minor league games, with 32 runs and 33 RBI. He fielded .977 in 57 games at 2B, .929 in 32 at SS and .974 in 20 at 3B.

He later scouted for the Florida Marlins. He signed Jake Blackwood, Austin Dean, Justin Jackson, Chad James, Tyler Kolek, Logan Morrison, Jared Rogers and Brett Sinkbeil.
