Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Justin Jackson played in the minor leagues from 2012 to 2014.

He was taken by the Miami Marlins in the 27th round of the 2012 amateur draft after five years with Sam Houston State University. The scout was Ryan Wardinsky. With the GCL Marlins in 2012, he went 4-2 with a 2.39 ERA in 11 games (six starts). His second win as a pro came as part of a combined perfect game against the GCL Astros; he fanned six in six innings before giving way to Patrick Merkling (Dane Stone finished up the game). Between the Batavia Muckdogs, Greensboro Grasshoppers and Jupiter Hammerheads in 2013, he was 8-1 with a 4.19 ERA in 15 games (two starts). His seven wins with Batavia tied him for the New York-Penn League lead in victories. He was let go by the Marlins following the season and signed on with the Frontier Greys for 2014, with whom he went 1-3 with a 11.05 ERA in four games (three starts).
