Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Jared Rogers played in the minor leagues from 2010 to 2014. He reached Triple A in 2013 and 2014.

He was originally taken by the New York Yankees in the 36th round of the 2006 amateur draft, the same round as outfielder J.D. Martinez and pitcher Kyle Gibson, though he did not sign. He did ink a deal after the Florida Marlins took him in the 36th round of the 2010 amateur draft, two picks ahead of pitcher Dean Kiekhefer. The signing scout was Ryan Wardinsky.

He began his pro career by going 6-1 with a 1.11 ERA in 13 games (five starts) between the GCL Marlins and Jamestown Jammers. He had two complete games, two shutouts and two saves. The next campaign, he was a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star, going 5-5 with a 3.16 ERA in 79 2/3 innings with the Greensboro Grasshoppers. He also spent a game with the Jacksonville Suns. His ERA rose to 5.40 in 2012 and in 2013, he was 7-4 with a 4.25 ERA in 17 games during his first stint at Triple A. He also went 1-2 with a 2.68 ERA at Double A. Between Double A and Triple A in 2014, he was 8-6 with a 5.02 ERA in 27 games (23 starts). He also went 4-3 with a 3.10 mark for the Senadores de San Juan in Puerto Rico over the winter.

Overall, Rogers was 29-21 with a 3.86 ERA in 94 games (72 starts).
