He was 2-2 with a 8.07 ERA in 2010 for the Paris Université Club in his Division I debut at age 16. [1] He allowed nine runs in two innings in the 2010 World Junior Championship for France's highest ERA. [2] He gave up six hits, four walks and nine runs (four earned) in three innings in the 2011 European Junior Championship. [3]

In 2012, he had a 1-1, 3.27 record for Paris. [4] He allowed one unearned run in 5 2/3 IP in '13. [5] During 2014, he had a 9.00 ERA in 8 innings and hit .250/.325/.278. [6] He entered Paris's regular rotation in 2015; the 21-year-old went 5-5 with a save and a 4.40 ERA and hit .333 as well. He was 9th in the league in IP (75 2/3 IP), tied for 4th in appearances (17) and 10th in Ks (41). [7] He was 0-1 with a 14.73 ERA in the 2015 European Cup, losing to Unipol Bologna. [8]

Monbeig was 3-8 with a 4.88 ERA in 2016, hitting .159/.229/.250. He was 8th in Division I in innings (79 1/3) and tied Rayner Oliveros for the most losses. [9] He pitched twice for France in the 2016 European Championship. Against Italy, he relieved Owen Ozanich in the 4th with two on, no outs and a 1-0 deficit. After a double steal, Marco Sabbatani hit a sacrifice fly. Stefano De Simoni bunted and Monbeig made a good play to get Erick Epifano at home. De Simoni was caught stealing and Monbeig had escaped with relatively little harm. In the 5th, Sebastiano Poma singled. Monbeig retired former major leaguer Alex Liddi. Giuseppe Mazzanti singled in a run but was caught in a run-down for a second out. Monbeig walked Alex Sambucci and Jairo Ramos Gizzi grounded out. France tied it at 3 in the top of the 6th. In the bottom of the 6th, Monbeig walked Alessandro Vaglio, retired Epifano and gave up a single to Sabbatani to score Vaglio. Thomas Langloys relieved and let the inherited runner score; Monbeig took the loss in a 6-3 finale. He also pitched against Silver Medal winner Spain, replacing Lucas Sérafin with a 4-0 deficit, two out and one on. He retired Jesús Golindano to end the inning. He walked Richard Montiel and Jesús Ustariz doubled. He recovered to retire Yancarlo Franco. Dan Camou relieved and let both runners in, charged to Monbeig. His 15.00 ERA wasn't France's highest as Anthony Piquet and Yoann Vaugelade were higher. [10]
