Biographical Information[edit]

Rayner Oliveros pitched in the minor leagues from 2005 to 2010 and independent ball in 2011 and 2012. He played in the Venezuelan Winter League from 2006 to 2014 and in France in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.

Signed by the Kansas City Royals, he began his career on high note, going 7-1 with a 2.73 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) between two clubs in 2005. His 7 wins tied Ernesto Frieri for the Arizona League lead. With the Burlington Bees in 2006, he went 7-4 with a 2.84 mark in 32 games (5 starts).

Signed by the Tampa Bay Rays for 2009, Oliveros went 7-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 33 games (10 starts) between three stops, including his first and only at Triple A. He remained in the Rays system through 2010. He experienced varying levels of success in the indy ranks and winter ball over the next few years. With the Division Elite's La Rochelle Boucaniers in 2019, he went 5-5 with a 2.99 ERA and 9.6 K/9 IP in 90 1/3 innings.

He played in the 2010 Caribbean Series and was on the French roster for the 2020 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers before the tournament was one of the first baseball events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oliveros was a pitching coach for the ACL Reds in 2023.

Rayner's brother, Lester Oliveros, made his major league debut in 2011.
