2020 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers
The 2020 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, to determine the final teams to take part in the 2021 World Baseball Classic, were set to take place in March 2020 but were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. No date was given in the immediate for the event to be re-scheduled.
The first of the two qualifying pools comprised the following teams: Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Philippines and South Africa - the top two teams will qualify
The second qualifying group was made up of: Czech Republic, France, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Panama and Spain - the top two teams will qualify.
All of the participating teams had taken part in the 2016 qualifying round; Spain, South Africa, Brazil and Panama had all played in a World Baseball Classic as well.
