Lindenwood University was known as Lindenwood College until 1997. The school has sponsored baseball from 1973-1987 and 1990 to present.
Lindenwood moved up to NCAA Division-II and was accepted into the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in the 2012-2013 school year. In 2023, Lindenwood played their first year in Division I.
