Biographical Information

Jonathan Estes has been a minor league pitcher and college coach.

Estes set the Freed-Hardemann record for career ERA (among other records he set there). The St. Louis Cardinals chose him in the 42nd round of the 2002 amateur draft, one selection after Scott Feldman. In his pro debut, he was 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA for the Johnson City Cardinals. He allowed only 6 walks and one homer in 42 2/3 innings but gave up 55 hits. He split 2003 between the Peoria Chiefs (2-2, Sv, 3.93 in 26 G) and Palm Beach Cardinals (1-0, 3.31 in 15 G) to wind up his pro career.

Estes was head coach for Harris-Stowe State University for 3 years; his brother David Estes later held the same job. During this time, Jonathan was once the American Midwest Conference Coach of the Year. He then became head coach of Freed-Hardeman University in 2010.
