Biographical Information[edit]
In 2022, Dillon Lawson was named hitting coach of the New York Yankees. He had until then been the team's minor league hitting coordinator since 2018. He was fired on July 9, 2023, just before the All-Star break, because the Yankees were struggling badly at the plate ever since Aaron Judge had been lost to a toe injury a month earlier. At the time, the Yankees were batting a terrible .214 with an OBP of .284 since the injury.
