Biographical Information[edit]

Kyle Conley reached AA in 2012.

Amateur Career[edit]

Conley was All-State as a high school senior and also played football and basketball. Kyle hit .268/.354/.476 as a freshman in college. He fell to .240/.397/.340 in an injury-shortened sophomore year, ended by surgery on his left shoulder. He had a strong season as a redshirt sophomore in 2008, batting .337/.434/.746 with 19 homers, 49 runs and 57 RBI in 54 games. He was second in the Pacific-10 Conference in slugging (7 points behind Brett Wallace) and tied for 4th in homers with David Cooper. He made the All-Conference outfield alongside Jason Kipnis, Sean Ratliff and Jon Gaston. He tied for 29th in NCAA Division I in home runs. The Los Angeles Dodgers took him in the 16th round of the 2008 amateur draft. Returning for a fourth year at Washington, Kyle produced at a .303/.407/.645 clip with another 19 home runs as well as 51 runs and 55 RBI in 55 contests. He was among the Pac-10 leaders in slugging (5th), total bases (136, tied for 4th with Cody Decker), home runs (tied for second with Carlos Ramirez, two behind Decker), strikeouts (69, 1st) and RBI (tied for 3rd with Dillon Baird). He tied for 31st in Division I in dingers. He was again All-Conference. The St. Louis Cardinals chose him in the 7th round of the 2009 amateur draft.

Professional Career[edit]

Conley split the summer of 2009 between the Batavia Muckdogs (.385/.452/.752, 8 HR, 23 RBI in 29 G) and Quad Cities River Bandits (9 for 45, 3 2B, 3 BB, 17 K). He tied for second in the New York-Penn League in home runs despite his partial season, 6 behind leader Neil Medchill. He was 5 for 26 with a triple, homer and two walks in eight games for the 2010 River Bandits before a wrist injury ended his year. He returned in 2011 and played for the GCL Cardinals (2 for 13, 4 BB), Quad Cities (.221/.293/.426 in 20 G) and the Palm Beach Cardinals (.249/.321/.487, 13 HR). He tied for 8th in the Cardinals chain with 16 home runs.

In 2012, Kyle appeared for Palm Beach (2 for 13, HR, BB) and the Springfield Cardinals (.226/.303/.447, 9 HR, 30 RBI in 46 G).
