Biographical Information[edit]

Kenny Esposito has pitched in French Division I and for the French national team.

He was born in the US but moved to France while a young child; some French sources mistakenly list him as being born in Aubagne, France. [1] Debuting in the Division I in 2021 for the Montpellier Barracudas, he allowed 3 runs (2 earned) in 7 innings. [2] He allowed six runs in six innings in the 2021 U18 European Championship, beating the Czech team and Matyáš Němčanský; he also was 1-for-5 with a triple as a part-time outfielder. In '22, he had a save and a 5.40 ERA for Toulouse Stade Toulousain Baseball. [3] He was with France for the 2022 European Championship Qualifiers, relieving Mathis Nayral with a 9-2 lead in the second against Bulgaria. He walked Petre Gruev, struck out Ilian Dragoev, allowed a Kiril Ananiev single then whiffed Nikolay Karashtranov and got Evgenii Chernozemsky on a grounder to end the inning. Quentin Moulin took over in the 3rd. France, as expected, won the event for a spot in the 2023 European Championship. [4]

Esposito retired all six batters he faced in the 2023 U23 European Championship. [5] In France that summer, he was 1-0 with a 3.65 ERA for Toulouse. [6] He was picked for France's squad for the 2023 European Championship. He relieved Gédéon Coste in the 6th with a 5-0 deficit against defending champion the Netherlands. He retired Ray-Patrick Didder then Didi Gregorius reached on an error. Juremi Profar singled to put men on the corners but Esposito retired Ademar Rifaela and Sharlon Schoop to escape unscathed. In the 7th, he walked Sicnarf Loopstok then Delano Selassa hit into an error. After Selassa was caught stealing, he walked Jiandido Tromp and threw a run-scoring wild pitch before walking Roger Bernadina. He got Didder again then gave way to Franklin De La Rosa, who let one inherited runner score. His other game, he was much sharper. Replacing De La Rosa with a 8-0 deficit and one out in the 4th against the Czech national team, he retired Martin Mužík and Vojtěch Menšík. He went 1-2-3 against Marek Chlup, Arnošt Dubový (K) and Jakub Kubica in the 5th. After Willie Escala grounded out to open the 6th, Coste succeeded him. [7]

With Los Medanos College, he had a 2.27 ERA ten games into the 2023-2024 collegiate season. [8]
