Biographical Information

Kennedy Torres pitched three shutout innings and was 2-0 for the Philippines national team that won the 2023 East Asian Baseball Cup to win a spot in the 2023 Asian Championship. In the 2022 Asian Games (held in '23 due to delays from COVID-19), he made two appearances. Against Japan, he relieved Vladi Eguia in the 8th with a 5-0 deficit. He allowed singles to Kazuya Shimokawa and Jin Nakamura then walked Takehiro Tsujino and Hiroki Nakagawa to force in a run but recovered to strike out Toshifumi Kaneko and retire Motoki Mukoyama and get Ryuga Ihara to hit into a force. Clarence Caasalan took over for him. His other game went better as he got the win over Thailand. He replaced Eguia with a 5-0 lead in the 4th and went 1-2-3 against Siraphop Nadee, Jake Chaisongkram and Chanatip Thongbai. Raymond Nerosa then replaced him to open the 5th.
