Biographical Information

Ryuga Ihara played for Miki House in the Industrial League after college. He represented Japan in the 2022 Asian Games. He debuted against the Philippines, replaced Tatsuhiko Satoh in the 7th inning but went 0-for-2. He then went 1-for-2 with a RBI walk against Thor Hue of Laos. He didn't have any at-bats the next three games, only being used as a defensive sub for Motoki Mukoyama in the 9th inning against China. In the Bronze Medal Game, he pinch-hit for Kazuya Shimokawa in the 8th inning and recorded a game-tying RBI single against Xiang Wang to help Japan beat China and win the Bronze. He handled 3 chances error-free combined in left field for the event.
