He debuted against Venezuela, relieving Luis Cruz in the 5th with a 2-2 tie, one on and no outs. Jose Garcia laid down a sacrifice bunt then Michael Chirinos grounded out and he struck out César Ortega. He walked Derwin Barreto to open the 6th and Freddie Cabrera relieved, letting in the inherited run. He pitched a scoreless frame in a 3-1 loss to Puerto Rico. In his last game, versus Cuba, he took over for Josué Montañez to open extra innings with a 4-4 tie. He retired Dayán García then Yoelkis Guibert hit into a force (thanks to the starting runners). He walked MLB vet Erisbel Arruebarruena then retired Yasniel González. He got the win over Yeudis Reyes when Puerto Rico scored in the bottom of the frame. [1]
