Biographical Information[edit]

Heon-min Shin has pitched in the KBO and for the South Korean national team.

He was the first-round pick of the SSG Landers in the 2022 KBO draft, second overall. [1] He allowed three hits and two runs (one earned) in one inning in the 2022 KBO and had a 6.00 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in 11 relief appearances in 2023.

Shin then made South Korea's young club for the 2023 Asian Championship. He started their opener against host Taiwan, facing Jo-Hsi Hsu. He retired Chih-Cheng Chiu and Hsiao-Yun Chen, allowed a Chen-Fei Lin single and got Ji-Hong Liu on a grounder. In the second, he again allowed one hit and nothing further. Four straight hits to open the third chased him; Kang-hoon Woo took over and Shin was charged with three run and the loss. Relieving Ji-su Jang with a 2-1 lead over the Philippines, he let inherited runner Erwin Bosito score but pitched 1 2/3 perfect (striking out Ferdinand Liguayan Jr. and Jennald Pareja) and got the win when South Korea rallied; Hyeon-su Jeong took over. He allowed three hits and one run in one inning to champion Japan in his last game. He tied for 5th in the event in appearances. [2]
