Biographical Information[edit]
Henry Henry has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.
Henry was signed by San Diego Padres scouts Felix Feliz, Alvin Duran and Israel Rojas. [1] He split 2016 between the DSL Padres (2 R in 6 IP) and AZL Padres (1-4, 5.28 in 9 G). In '17, he was with the AZL Padres 2 (1-0, 1 R in 6 IP) and Tri-City Dust Devils (2-5, 3.48). During 2018, he pitched for the Dust Devils (4-3, 3.32) and Fort Wayne TinCaps (1-1, 8.66 in 7 G). Had he qualified, he would have been 4th in the Northwest League in ERA. Baseball America named him the #18 prospect in the NWL, between Grant Little and Terrin Vavra. [2]
The San Cristobal native moved to the bullpen with the 2019 TinCaps, going 7-5 with 10 saves and a 3.32 ERA, walking only 16 in 81 1/3 IP. He tied Yaya Chentouf for 3rd in the Midwest League in games pitched (43) and tied Eric Marinez for 5th in saves. He tied Kazuhisa Makita, Deuris Valdez and Eric Yardley for 7th in the Padres in appearances and was 3rd in saves (behind Evan Miller and David Bednar). He then made the Dominican squad for the 2019 Premier 12. He got the team's lone win in their three games, relieving Ervin Santana with a 3-3 tie in the 3rd, two on and one out. He fared better than the MLB vet that day. Ademar Rifaela singled to load the bases and Juremi Profar flew into a double play, Chadwick Tromp out trying to score on the play. After the Dominicans scored in the top of the 4th, he got three of four batters in the 4th (Sharlon Schoop, Roger Bernadina and Calten Daal), giving up a Ray-Patrick Didder double. The Dominicans got three more in the 5th and then Cristofer Ogando took over for Henry. [3]
