Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Eric Yardley played in the independent Pecos League after being undrafted out of college. He was signed by the San Diego Padres and scout Justin Baughman on July 21, 2013. From that inauspicious beginning, Yardley gradually worked his way through the Padres minor league system until making his major league debut on August 21, 2019. After that season the Milwaukee Brewers claimed him off of waivers and he spent 2020-2021 with the Brewers or their AAA affiliate. For the major league portion of his career, Yardley had a 2-1 record with a 3.52 ERA pitching exclusively in relief. Yardley split the 2022 season between the AAA affiliates of the Chicago Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays. He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023, but was released during spring training.

Yardley returned to the Blue Jays as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats bullpen coach in 2024.
