[1] In the 2022 South American Championship, he started one game for the champs. He retired Daniel Liu and Giancarlo Kanashiro, gave up a Susumu Yoza single then got Juan Casas to hit into a force. His first K was off Jorge Pastor. He went four innings against Peru and allowed four hits, one run and no walks while striking out six. Silvio Figueiredo relieved with a 9-1 lead but nearly blew it. Takano did not get the win, which went to Kawan de Araújo. [2]
