Biographical Information[edit]
Chen-Yu Yang has been an outfielder for the Taiwanese national team. His cousins Cheng-Chun Yang and Tai-Chun Yang have played in the CPBL. [1]
He hit .333/.412/.533 in the 2017 Asian Championship, his three doubles tying Han Lin for the team lead on the Silver Medal winners. [2] He was 0 for 7 in the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week. [3] He batted .143/.294/.143 with one run and one RBI in six games in the 2019 World Port Tournament. [4] He fared better in the 2019 Asian Championship. He had 3 hits, a walk, homer, four runs and four RBI against Hong Kong and 3 hits against South Korea. He finished at .421/.468/.684 with 6 runs and 6 RBI in five games. He tied for 5th in steals (2, behind Erwin Bosito, Juan Diego Lozano, Jonash Ponce and Sameera Rathnayake), tied for 1st in sacrifice hits (2), tied for 2nd in homers (one, behind Jin Yang), tied for 4th in hits (8), tied Wei-Chih Chen and Lozano for 4th in RBI and tied for 3rd in runs (one behind Lozano and Kazuya Shimokawa). Taiwan won the title. [5]
