1961 NAIA Area Tournaments
The winners of the 1961 NAIA Districts either advanced to an Area Tournament or were up for selection by the Area committee. The Areas are geographically grouped. The top team in each Area advances to the 1961 NAIA College World Series.
Area 1[edit]
Sacramento State College from District 3 was chosen by the Area 1 committee as the representative in the CWS. Other districts in the area were District 2 (champion - Portland State College 2nd choice) and District 1 (Washington, champion - ??).

Grambling State University was chosen by the Area 5 committee as the Area 5 representative in the CWS.

Defiance College from District 22 was chosen by the Area 6 committee as the representative in the CWS. Other districts in the area were District 20 (Illinois, champion - Illinois State College 2nd choice), District 23 (Michigan, champion - Ferris Institute 3rd choice) and District 21 (Indiana, champion - ??).
