1960 NAIA Area Tournaments
The winners of the 1960 NAIA Districts either advanced to an Area Tournament or were up for selection by the Area committee. Eight of the Areas are geographically grouped, with Area 9 being comprised of HBCUs. The top team in eight of the nine Areas advance to the 1960 NAIA College World Series.
Area 1[edit]
Whitworth College from District 1 was chosen by the Area 1 committee as the representative in the CWS. Other districts in the area were District 2 (champion - Oregon College of Education 2nd choice) and District 3 (California, champion - ??).
Area 2[edit]
Sam Houston State Teachers College was chosen by the Area 2 committee as the representative in the CWS. St. Mary's University was the 2nd choice.

Area 4[edit]
Morningside College from District 15 was chosen by the Area 4 committee as the representative in the CWS. Other districts in the area were District 13 (Mankato State College), District 14 (Wisconsin State College-La Crosse), and District 16 (William Jewell College).
Area 5[edit]
The Area 5 representative was not chosen to participate in the CWS tournament . District 17 champion Arkansas State College or District 19 champion Saint Bernard College was probably chosen as the Area representative.
Area 6[edit]
Southern Illinois University from District 20 was chosen by the Area 6 committee as the representative in the CWS.
