1979 NAIA Area Tournaments

The winners of the 1979 NAIA District Tournaments advanced to one of 8 Area Tournaments. As with the District Tournaments, the Area Tournaments are geographically grouped. The 4 team brackets are double elimination format. The top team in each bracket advances to the 1979 NAIA College World Series.

The Area 2 tournament featured 4 of the top 10 teams in the final NAIA poll: #1 Grand Canyon, #2 William Carey, #6 Sam Houston, and #10 Lubbock Christian.
