Black Hills State University was known as Black Hills State College until 1989. Joe Belak went here.
The 1981 squad finished with a 39-9 overall mark. The team won the SDIC and District 12 championship for the third consecutive season. Head coach Roger Casciani was named the NAIA District 12 Coach of the Year.
The 1979 baseball team won the SDIC with a perfect 11-0 conference record. The Jackets ended the season with a 22-5 record and won the District 12 championship, reaching the finals of the Area 3 NAIA tournament.
The 1978 baseball team won the SDIC Championship with an 11-5 record. The team’s overall record was 29-8, a single season record for victories. There were seven players from the team selected All-Conference and three were selected Honorable Mention All-Conference.
