Biographical Information

Joe Belak served in the US Army during the Korean War, laying land mines and clearing them up as well. While stationed in Japan, he was picked for Team USA that beat Australia in a single exhibition game at the 1956 Olympics. After his military service, he returned to South Dakota and made the state's amateur baseball Hall of Fame.
