The 1957 New York Giants were the last edition of the team to play in New York. They had the lowest average attendance in the National League. They relocated to San Francisco, CA before the 1958 season.

Hoyt Wilhelm was traded on February 26th. Red Schoendienst was traded on June 15th in a deadline deal.

Juan Marichal and Matty Alou were signed as free agents during the year, but neither played for the Giants in 1957.

Hank Sauer hit his 250th career home run in 1957.

Willie Mays led the league in triples (20), stolen bases (38), and slugging percentage (.626). Mays also posted the league's highest Adjusted OPS, the league's highest Power/Speed Number, and the league's most Runs Created.
