1921 in the Negro Leagues saw the Negro Southern League become a minor league.

The Cincinnati Cuban Stars were no-hit on June 6 by the Detroit Stars' Bill Gatewood. On September 10, Phil Cockrell of the Philadelphia Hilldale Giants no-hit the Detroit Stars.

Postseason[edit]

The Atlantic City Bacharach Giants and Philadelphia Hilldale Giants held a four game championship series in September, with the champion to face the Chicago American Giants. The series ended tied at two games apiece and the American Giants traveled east to play one series versus both the Bacharach Giants and the Hilldale Giants. Chicago defeated the Bacharach Giants 2-1-1 and lost to the Hilldale Giants 3-2-1.

The Montgomery Grey Sox were swept in a championship series versus Nashville in four games.
