The 1891 season of the American Association was the tenth and last season of the league. After the season, the league merged with the National League, with four clubs moving to the new league.

No postseason series was played as the National League instructs its league champions, the Boston Beaneaters, not to play a series against the American Association's Boston Reds. The leagues were discussing restructuring; after the season the American Association folded.
