Biographical Information[edit]
After his star pitching career, Sadie McMahon scouted for former teammate John McGraw's New York Giants from 1911-1925. He signed George Burns.
During his pitching career, he also umpired two games, in the American Association in 1890 and the other in the National League in 1893.
Although he was typically called "Sadie" in baseball circles, it was not a common nickname in baseball. The source of the nickname is uncertain. [1]
