Biographical Information

Yu-Liang Cheng had a brief career in the CPBL.

Cheng was drafted by the La New Bears in the 2nd round of the 2006 CPBL Draft, and he had a 3.77 ERA in 21 games in the minors in 2007. The Bears then traded him with Chih-Chung Yen and Po-Ching Chiang to the DMedia T-Rex for Chin-Chih Huang and Hsiang-Kai Shih. Cheng had a 11.77 ERA in 12 games in 2008, then he was involved in a game-fixing scandal and the league banned him for life.

Cheng’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.9 mph), changeup and curveball.
