The dMedia T-Rex began play in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in 2008. The club was formed when the Macoto Cobras were sold to dMedia after the 2007 campaign. They immediately ran into trouble and were expelled from the league at the end of their first campaign for a game-fixing scheme; players Cory Bailey, Yuan-Chia Chen and Ke-Fan Chen were all allegedly involved. Players indicted were Chi-Chung Yen, Chung-Hsiao Pan, Chung-Nan Lai, Jen-Wei Hu, Chien-Fu Chen, Jose Leon, Leovildo Pargas, Willy Lebron and Napoleon Calzado.
